Pedagogies of the future
Our Story
In Aug 07, a group of educators applied for the MOE Innovation Fund to embark on a project to explore teaching approaches and teacher competencies that will be necessary to engage students of the 21st century and make learning relevant and useful for them. The Organisation Development Division of the Ministry of Education supported our application and we were able to, in the months following, conduct some studies, ethnography, discussions and experimentation on pedagogical elements and strategies that worked well with students. The team that journeyed together to define the pedagogies of the future comprised:
· Lim
Lai Cheng, Simon Reynolds,
Michael Low, Martin Chew, Tham Kum Chee,
Curriculum Planning Division, Ministry of Education

We are proud to put together aspects of our four-month journey and some thoughts for you. We hope some of the ideas will excite you and inspire educators to carry on the process to experiment with and collaboratively construct teaching approaches that will make sense to the next generation of students. Special thanks to the Ministry of Education for funding the project and for making this journey possible.
